Starter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 2.0L TFSI Engine And Manual Transmission: Removing

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when the ignition is switched off. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connector -1- by sliding the retainer toward the rear and pressing the release down.
-- Remove the cap -2-.
-- Remove the terminal 30/B+ wire -3- from the starter.
-- Remove the nut -2-.
-- Remove the ground cable -1-.
NOTE:
Depending on the version, the ground cable can also be installed on the upper bolt.
-- Remove the nut -4- and remove the bracket -1- for the wires. The wires remain connected.
-- Remove the bolts -2 and 5- and then remove the starter -3- upward.
