Fuel Tank, Removing And Installing, All Wheel Drive Vehicles: Installing
Press the fuel supply lines on again and pull on them to make sure the connector coupling is engaged correctly.
Pay attention when connecting the connectors that they are secure.
-- Check the ground cable for traces of oxidation on the connectors. Remove any oxidation if necessary.
-- Make sure the following connectors are secure:
- The ground connection connector -4- must be firmly attached to the threaded ring -1- on the fuel filler neck.
- The ground connection contact -3- must be engaged in the hole on the fuel tank and secured with a spacer -2-.
USA and Canada Market Versions:
- The ground connection connector -2- must be firmly attached to the threaded ring -1- on the fuel filler neck.
- The ground connection contact -3- must be engaged in the hole on the fuel tank and secured with a spacer -4-.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
Risk of explosion due to electrostatic charge.
- After installing, check the electrical connection on fuel filler neck metal ring to a bare spot on the body using an ohmmeter.
- Specified value: approximately 0 Ω.
-- Make sure the fuel and vent line is clipped to the fuel tank.
-- Position the fuel tank with the mounting straps on the underbody using the Engine and Gearbox Jack.
-- When positioning the fuel tank, make sure that the fuel filler neck is guided into the opening of the body correctly.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:
-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
TT Coupe:
-- Install the rear bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
TT Roadster:
-- Install the right rear panel trim panel. Refer to REAR PANEL TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Connect the battery. While doing so, follow all steps after connecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
