Vibration Damper Seal, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Seal Installer - Crankshaft: T10354 
• Press Piece - Gearbox: T10375 
• Vibration Damper Assembly Tool - Tensioning Pins: T10531/2 
• Vibration Damper Assembly Tool - Knurled Nut: T10531/4  from the Vibration Damper Assembly Tool: T10531 
• Seal Installer - Crankshaft: T40274 

Procedure 

-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

• The : T10531/2  is installed.

-- Remove the seal -arrow- with the : T40274  .

-- Clean the contact and sealing surface.

-- Push the seal -arrow- on the : T10354  .

• The closed side of the seal points to the : T10354  .

-- Push the seal -arrow- with the : T10354  on the : T10531/2  and place on the lower timing chain cover.

-- Additionally attach the : T10375  and tighten the : T10531/4  .

-- Drive the seal in all the way using the : T10354  .

Installing 

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

• Replace the bolt with O-ring for the vibration damper after removal.

-- Install the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
