Lower Timing Chain Cover, Replacing: Removing
- Engine oil drained. Refer to ENGINE OIL .
Depending on the model preliminary work may be required. Refer to TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the engine support. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Free up the clip -2- for the wiring harness.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
-- If necessary, unclip the oil dipstick tube on the upper timing chain cover in direction of -arrow-.
-- Remove the guide tube from the lower timing chain cover.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-.
-- If equipped, remove the bolt -2- and remove the bracket -1- for the air duct pipe.
-- Remove the bolts -1 through 15-.
TIP:
There may be only eight bolts installed, depending on the version.
-- Remove the lower timing chain cover from the bonding.
