Crankshaft Needle Bearing, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Bearing Installer - Bearing Press Piece: VW207C 
• Counter Support: VAS251621 
• Internal Puller: VAS251635 

Conditions:

• Always replace the needle bearing after the engine and transmission have been separated.
• The front edges of the internal puller must not be broken off.

Needle Bearing, Removing

-- Remove the needle bearing -1- using the : VAS251635  -A- and : VAS251621  -B- from the crankshaft -2-.

-- The internal puller must be positioned behind the needle rim -arrow-.

Installing

-- Clean the bearing seat in the crankshaft and apply a thin coat of grease.

-- Drive the needle bearing into the crankshaft up to the installation depth using the : VW207C  .

Installation Depth Dimension a = 2.0 mm

• If the needle bearing is unintentionally pushed in to deeply, it must be replaced, because it will be damaged when it is removed again.
