Front Three-Point Seat Belt, Removing And Installing, TT Roadster: Removing
- Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Follow all regulations when disposing of pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING (PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS) .
-- Move the front seats into the most forward position and position the backrest all the way toward the front.
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the front belt end fitting. Refer to FRONT BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the rear panel trim panel. Refer to REAR PANEL TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the automatic belt retractor bolt -2-.
-- Remove the upper rear bulkhead plate -1-. Refer to the appropriate Service Information
-- Remove the automatic belt retractor from the mount.
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by briefly touching the door striker pin, for example.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1- from the automatic belt retractor. Release the connector lock using a small screwdriver.
-- Remove the bolt -2- for the seat belt guide and remove the automatic belt retractor -3-.
