Pressure Hose Sensor for Front Pedestrian Protection -G579-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable when the ignition is turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipped on some models: release the retainer -1-, disengage the pedestrian protection crash sensor -2- on the bumper cover.

-- Equipped on some models: remove the expanding rivet -2- and disengage the pedestrian protection crash sensor -5- from the bumper cover.

-- Disengage the pressure hose -4- from the bumper cover and remove from the recess in the molded foam part -3-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- To do this pull out the connector lock -2-, push down -arrow-, and disconnect the connector -1- on the crash sensor.

-- Repeat the process on the opposite side.
