Head Curtain Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing
- Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Follow all regulations when disposing of pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING (PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS) .
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.
-- Pull out connector lock -2- in direction of -arrow- and disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -1- for the head curtain airbag clips in the sequence -D to A-.
-- Unclip the clips -2- for the head curtain airbag from the body.
-- Remove the bolt -2- for the head curtain airbag strap from the A-pillar.
-- Unclip the clip -1- from the A-pillar.
-- Remove the bolt -1- on the head curtain airbag.
-- Disengage the head curtain airbag -2- first at the rear out of the mount -arrow A- on the body.
-- Disengage the head curtain airbag from the mount -arrow B- on the body and remove.
