Driver Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G256-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

WARNING:
  • Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
  • Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.

-- Move the front seats into the most forward position and position the backrest all the way toward the front.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- TT Roadster: Unclip the center rear panel trim panel -1- with the : T10383/1  -arrow- and remove.

-- TT Coupe. remove the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the side airbag crash sensor -2- from the body.

WARNING:

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- To do this pull out the connector lock -2-, push down in direction of -arrow-, and disconnect the connector -1- on the crash sensor.
