Charge Air Cooler, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the clamps -1 and 2- and remove the air duct hose.

-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .

-- Remove the air ducts -1 and 2-.

NOTE:

If the bolts or the catches for the charge air cooler are not accessible the applicable headlamp mount must be slightly raised as follows:

-- Remove the clip -2- in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Lift the headlamp mount -1- only until the bolt or the charge air cooler catches are accessible in direction of -arrow B-.

Rubber Buffer Version 1:

-- Remove the left and right radiator mount catches in direction of -arrows- with a side cutter. Push the radiator with the upper charge air cooler slightly toward the rear.

NOTE:

The radiator mount will be used again when installing. It is then attached to the lock carrier.

-- Remove the left and right bolt -arrow- and push the charge air cooler together with the radiator slightly toward the rear.

-- Unlock the catch in direction of -arrow- and remove the cover -1- toward the front.

-- Unclip the left and right air duct -2- downward in direction to -arrow B-.

-- Open the left and right retainers in direction to -arrow A- and disengage the condenser -3- from the charge air cooler -1-.

-- Secure the condenser to the lock carrier.

-- Remove the charge air cooler.
