Seat Depth Adjuster, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fasten the front seat on the : VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Equipped on some models: disconnect the connector for the heated seat extension.

-- Move the seat depth adjuster all the way forward.

-- Push together the tabs in direction of -arrows- on the trim -1- with pliers or release with the : 3409 .

-- Remove the trim from the seat depth adjuster.

-- Release the retaining tabs in direction of -arrow- on the support using the : 3409 from the seat depth adjustor.

-- At the same time remove the support -1- with seat depth adjustment cushion and cover upward.

-- Disengage the tabs -arrows- from the seat depth adjustor -2- and move the support with cushion and cover upward.

-- Remove the support -1- with cushion and cover for the seat depth adjustor upward and forward at the same time.

-- Lay the support -2- with the seat depth adjuster cushion and cover on the front seat.

NOTE:

For better illustration the seat pan is not shown.

-- Remove the cushion -1 and 4- and the seat depth adjustor cover retaining channel -3-.

-- Disengage the cushion -1- at the sides from the tabs -3-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the tabs.

-- Remove the clamping profile -2- from the tabs -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and nuts -3- from the seat depth adjuster.

-- Unclip the tabs -1 and 3- using the : 3409 .

-- Remove the seat depth adjuster -2- from the seat pan upward and forward -arrows-.

-- Disengage the tabs -4- from the seat pan while doing this.

-- Remove the seat depth adjuster from the front seat.
