Driver Backrest Adjustment Motor -V45- /Front Passenger Backrest Adjustment Motor -V46-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
- Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.
- Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Check the position of the backrest frame -1- and the anchor -3- on the left and right backrest side.
- The left and right backrest frames must be in the position marked before removal -A and B arrows-.
-- If the left and right backrest frames are not in the correct position, correct their position accordingly.
-- Install the backrest adjustment motor -4-.
- It must still be possible to move the backrest adjustment motor.
-- First slide the adjustment shaft through the anchor (tunnel side) as far as the mount in the backrest adjustment motor.
-- Check if the profile of the inserted adjustment shaft and the mount in the backrest adjustment motor to see if they align.
-- For adjustment, connect an external 12-volt power source to the backrest adjustment motor and turn mount until the profiles of adjustment shaft and mount are aligned.
-- Slide the adjustment shaft -1- through the mount in the backrest adjustment motor as far as the backrest adjustment wheel stop switch (side sill side) -arrow-.
-- Tighten the bolt -2- for the backrest adjustment motor.
Seat with Stop Switch for the Backrest Adjustment Wheel:
-- Install the backrest adjustment wheel stop switch -4-.
-- Slide the adjustment shaft -1- through the mount in the stop switch for the backrest adjustment as far as the stop (side sill side) in direction of -arrow-.
-- Tighten the bolt -3- for the backrest adjustment stop switch.
-- Connect the connector -2-.
Continuation for All Seats:
-- Push the new lock washer -2- onto the adjustment shaft -1- so that there is still at least 1.0 mm of play.
Install in reverse order of removal.
