Approved Refrigerant Oils And Refrigerant Oil Capacities For Refrigerant R134A
The special refrigerant oil that is only used for refrigerant circuits with refrigerant R134a is not always commercially available. Refer to the Parts Information.
Refrigerant R134a and refrigerant oil. Refer to MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSIS (2016 FLUID CAPACITY TABLES) [COUPE] / MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSIS (2017 - 2018 FLUID CAPACITY TABLES) [COUPE] / MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSIS (FLUID CAPACITY TABLES) (1 OF 2) [COUPE] / MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSIS (FLUID CAPACITY TABLES) (2 OF 2) [COUPE] .
-- Discharging, evacuating and filling the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit .
-- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING AFTER CHARGING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT and A/C System, General Information (Refrigerant R134a, Servicing; A/C System, General Information). After recharging, before activating the A/C system.
Malfunctions due to filling the A/C system with the wrong refrigerant oil.
- Only fill the refrigerant circuit with approved refrigerant oils. Refer to the Parts Information. The correct refrigerant oil depends on the manufacturer and the type of A/C compressor installed. Refer to REFRIGERANT R134A CAPACITIES, REFRIGERANT OIL AND APPROVED REFRIGERANT OILS .
Malfunctions due to improper filling of the A/C system with refrigerant oil.
- Too much refrigerant oil in the refrigerant circuit increases the pressures and reduces the cooling output of the system.
- Too little refrigerant oil in the refrigerant circuit can lead to A/C compressor failure due to lubrication problems.
Danger of corrosion in the refrigerant circuit.
- Refrigerant oil absorbs moisture. Do not use refrigerant oil from containers that have been left open for a long period of time. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, GENERAL INFORMATION .
Important Information:
Refrigerant oil attracts moisture. Close any opened containers immediately after use to prevent moisture from entering.
The specification about the usability of the refrigerant oil is given on the bottle the refrigerant oil is delivered in.
This time specification does not need to be observed when the delivered bottle is tightly sealed.
Refrigerant oil from a delivered bottle that is tightly sealed can also be used after the time specified on the delivered bottle.
