Contact Corrosion

Contact corrosion can occur when incorrect fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) are used.

For this reason, only fasteners with a special surface coating are installed.

Also, rubber or plastic parts and adhesive consist of materials that do not conduct electricity.

If there are doubts as to whether the parts are suitable or not, use new parts. Refer to the Parts Information.

Note:

• Only original replacement parts are recommended as they have been tested and are aluminum compatible.
• The use of Audi accessories is recommended.
• Damage due to contact corrosion is not covered by warranty.
