Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following.

• Replace the seal and self-locking nuts after disassembly.

-- Bring the catalytic converter and screw-type clamp -3- into the installation position but do not tighten yet.

-- Bring the heat shield -1- for the bevel box into the installation position and tighten the bolts -arrows-.

-- Install the bolt -2- all the way but do not tighten.

-- Install the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, LOWERING .

-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Install the bolts -arrows- all the way but do not tighten.

-- Aligning the catalytic converter:

• Dimension -a- = 34 to 42 mm

-- Tighten the bolts -arrows-.

-- Tighten the bolt -1-.

-- Tighten the screw-type clamp -2-.

-- Check the adjustment dimension of the catalytic converter.

-- Install the Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39-. Refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to Air Filter .

-- Install the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, LOWERING .

-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Install the rear catalytic converter or exhaust pipe. Refer to REAR CATALYTIC CONVERTER/EXHAUST PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

-- Install the exhaust system without tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
