Camshaft Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing
Depending on the model preliminary work may be required. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD .
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the air duct pipe.
-- Remove camshaft timing chain from camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
-- Remove the crankcase ventilation module. Refer to CRANKCASE VENTILATION MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the ignition coils. Refer to IGNITION COILS WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the hose clamp -1-.
-- Press the release buttons on both sides and disconnect the hose -3- for the crankcase ventilation on the air duct pipe.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and the air duct pipe.
-- Remove and free up the vacuum lines -1 and 3-.
-- Remove the bolts -2 and 4- and remove the vacuum line and intake tube.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- from Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- for the cam actuator and move the wiring harness to side.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and remove the bracket for the engine cover.
-- Carefully remove the noise insulation.
-- Loosen the camshaft housing bolts in the sequence: -23 to 1-.
-- Remove the bolts and the camshaft housing.
