Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Transmission Side

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Crankshaft Seal Installer Kit:T10122B 
• Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal:T20143/2 

Tools, Preparing

If still present, an additional hole must be applied in the :T10122/6  :

• Dimension -a- = 11 mm
• Dimension -b- = 9.5 mm
• Diameter = 7.5 mm
• Depth = 14 mm

Procedure

• The transmission is removed. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the sensor wheel.

-- Pry out the seal carefully using the :T20143/2  at the same time do not damage the contact and sealing surface.

-- Clean the contact and sealing surface.

-- Attach the :T10122/1  to the :T10122/6  and push the seal -A- on the guide piece.

-- Remove the :T10122/1  .

-- Position the :T10122/6  on the crankshaft.

-- Attach the Guide Piece to the crankshaft through the mounting points -A- with the bolts -arrows-.

-- Position the :T10122/6  on the crankshaft.

-- Attach the Guide Piece through the mounting points -B- with the bolts -arrows- on the crankshaft.

-- Push the seal on the crankshaft by hand using the : T10122/6  .

-- Press the seal in evenly all around using the :T10122/5  until flush.

-- Remove the :T10122/6  .

-- Check the seal as well as its sealing lip for correct seating. If the sealing lip is partially rolled back, repeat the procedure with a new seal.

-- Install the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
