Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, 1LK/1LH TTS: Removing

NOTE:

Label the brake pads that will be used again when removing. Install in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.

-- Remove the affected front wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Disconnect the connector for the brake pad wear sensor contact on the brake caliper.

-- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LK/1LH TTS .

-- Hang the brake caliper on the body using a suitable wire.

CAUTION:

Danger of damaging the brake hose.

  • Do not let the brake caliper hang on the brake hose. Do not support the weight with the brake hose.
  • Replace the brake hose if damaged.

Risk of damaging the brake caliper piston.

  • Do not press the brake pedal when the brake caliper is removed.
WARNING:
  • Do not damage the brake hose and brake line.
  • Do not bend the brake line past the specified form.
  • A damaged brake hose or a damaged or bent brake line must be replaced.

-- Remove the clamp -1 image A- with suitable pliers from the brake caliper at the same time hold the brake pads.

Remove the brake pads -1 image B- from the brake caliper.
