Driver And Front Passenger Backrest Heating Element -Z7- / -Z9-, Removing And Installing
NOTE:
Depending on vehicle equipment the backrest heating element is bonded with the cushion or sewn into the cover.
To repair a faulty backrest heating element a new backrest heating element is bonded directly on the faulty seat heating element or replaced in the cover.
Procedure
-- Separate the cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, SEPARATING .
-- Cut the wire -1- directly from the old heating element -3-.
-- Align the new heating element on the cushion -2-.
-- Peel the protective film off the heating element. Be careful not to damage the heating element.
-- Bond heating elements so that they align with the old heating elements and are free of wrinkles.
Further installation is the reverse order of removal.
