Driver Backrest Adjustment Motor -V45- /Front Passenger Backrest Adjustment Motor -V46-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
- Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fasten the front seat on the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the tunnel-side seat side trim. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the seat side trim on side sill side. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the backrest frame near the backrest hinge. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SPORT SEAT .
-- Mark the angle adjustment of the left and right backrest hinges on the front seat as follows:
-- Apply the mark -arrow B- to the backrest frame with a waterproof marker -1- directly at the front edge -arrow A- of the hinge -3-.
-- Remove the lock washer -2- from the adjusting mechanism.
-- Remove the adjusting mechanism -1- in the direction of the -arrow- out of the backrest frame.
Seat with Stop Switch for the Backrest Adjustment Wheel:
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Remove the bolt -3- and remove the stop switch -4- for the backrest adjustment wheel.
Continuation for All Seats:
-- Remove the adjustment shaft -1- from the backrest frame in direction of -arrow-.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- at the backrest adjustment motor.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the motor -4- for the backrest adjustment.
