Hood Release Lever, Removing

1. Release Lever

   Removing 

   -- The release lever handle is removed. Refer to Remove the Operating Lever Handle .

   -- The lower A-pillar trim panel is removed. Refer to A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Disengage cable -3-.

   -- Remove the bolts -4-, release mounting bracket -arrow- and remove from behind from the A-pillar.

   • Installing 

     -- When installing the mounting bracket on the A-pillar push in until the retainer -arrow- engages.

     -- Tighten the bolt to the tightening specification, engage the cable and clip in the cable bracket.

2. Clip
3. Release Cable
   • Clip the cable bracket into the mounting bracket as shown in the magnified section of the illustration.
4. Bolt
   • 2 Nm

-- Install the release cable -2- into the hood release lever -1- in the direction of -arrow-.

-- Move the release cable -2- upward as illustrated and clip it into the release lever -1-.
