Seat Depth Adjuster, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture: VAS 6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Equipment level with storage compartment: remove the storage compartment. Refer to STORAGE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Move the seat depth adjuster all the way forward.

-- Release the tabs -arrows- on the trim -1- using a Trim Removal Wedge: 3409 .

-- Remove the trim from the seat depth adjuster.

-- Release the retaining tabs -arrow- on the support from the seat depth adjuster using the Trim Removal Wedge: 3409 .

-- Remove the support -1- with seat depth adjustment cushion and cover upward.

-- Disengage the tabs -arrows- from the seat depth adjuster -2- and move the support with cushion and cover upward.

-- Remove the support -1- with cushion and cover for the seat depth adjuster upward and forward at the same time.

-- Lay the support -2- with the seat depth adjuster cushion and cover on the front seat.

NOTE:

For better illustration the seat pan lower frame is not shown.

-- Remove the cushion -1 and 4- and the cover retaining channel -3- on the seat depth adjuster.

-- Disengage the cushion -1- at the sides from the tabs -3-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the locking tabs.

-- Remove the clamping profile -2- from the tabs -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and nuts -3- from the seat depth adjuster.

-- Unclip the tabs -1 and 3- using the Trim Removal Wedge: 3409 .

-- Remove the seat depth adjuster -2- from the seat pan upward and forward -arrows-.

-- Disengage the tabs -4- from the seat pan while doing this.

-- Remove the seat depth adjuster from the front seat.
