E-Box, Removing And Installing, E-Box In Luggage Compartment: Removing
-- Turn on the ignition and disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, BATTERY IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT .
-- Remove the molded insert for the tool box.
-- Loosen the quick release -1 and 3- and open the cover -2- -arrow-.
-- Remove the nut and the wire -6-.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example when disconnecting the connector) the person handling the component must "discharge static electricity". To do this quickly touch for example the door striker pin.
-- Disconnect the connector -5- on the battery Interrupt Igniter, to do so release the connector lock with a small screwdriver.
-- Remove the nuts -3 and 7- and remove the wires -4 and 8-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Remove the E-box -2-.
Check the exact connector assignment in the current wiring diagram. Refer to Wiring Diagram.
