Backrest Release, Removing And Installing, Standard/Sport Seat: Removing
- Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Secure the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture: VAS 6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the backrest release trim. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT/SPORT SEAT .
-- Remove the backrest seat cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
-- Disengage the connecting cable. Refer to CONNECTING CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
-- Pull the operating lever -2- upward, until stop push forward and remove the bolt -3-.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
-- Disengage the backrest release -4- from the backrest frame in the -direction of the arrow- and remove.
