Overview - Telephone, BLUETOOTH Hands-Free Calling (9ZX)

The Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- is installed with the Telephone Microphone -R38- and is used for hands-free calling.

Operation is performed via the Multimedia System Control Head -E380- or via the Cellular Telephone -R54-.

The Cellular Telephone -R54- is connected via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth Antenna -R152- is installed in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-.

9ZX - Bluetooth hands-free calling

1. Front Information Display Control Head -J685- in Center of the Instrument Panel
2. Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- with Bluetooth Antenna -R152- in the Glove Compartment
3. Microphone Unit in Front Roof Module -R164- (Telephone Microphone -R38-) in the Front Interior Lamp -W1-
4. Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- under the Left Front Seat

Antennas

Bluetooth hands-free calling (9ZX) without online service (EL0):

• No Telephone Antenna -R65- is installed
• No LTE antennas (LTE Antenna 1 -R297- /LTE Antenna 2 -R306-) are installed

Bluetooth hands-free calling (9ZX) with Audi connect (EL3/EL5):

• No Telephone Antenna -R65- is installed
• The LTE Antenna 1 -R297- is installed under the left rear bumper cover.
• The LTE Antenna 2 -R306- is installed under the rear bumper cover on the right side/in the right instrument panel (depending on the equipment)

Fault Finding is performed using the "Guided Fault Finding"  on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Notes on Bluetooth technology

A standardized radio connection is used for data transfer between the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- and Cellular Telephone -R54- - Bluetooth Technology.

An additional transmitter/receiver unit is installed in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-. A Bluetooth Antenna -R152- connects the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- and Cellular Telephone -R54- so that the Cellular Telephone -R54- can be operated wirelessly (no wire connection).

The range of the radio connection is approximately 10 m (32.8 feet).
