Muffler, Removing And Installing, AWD Vehicles: Removing

-- Loosen the threaded connections for the front clamping sleeve -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the left and right connector -3- from the exhaust door control unit -2-.

A3 Cabriolet:

-- Remove the corresponding diagonal brace. Refer to SUBFRAME .

-- Disengage the mounting -3- from the exhaust system rear section.

WARNING:

Risk of accident due to the weight of the muffler.

A second technician is required to remove the rear muffler.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and then remove the muffler.
