Toothed Belt, Removing From Camshaft: Removing
-- Remove the upper toothed belt guard. Refer to UPPER TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Only turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation.
-- Turn the crankshaft at the toothed belt gear bolt until the camshaft toothed belt gear is at "Top Dead Center (TDC)".
-- Secure the camshaft hub with the :3359 , to do this place the ring pin in the carrier prong -2- and the rear hole -1- in the cylinder head.
-- Loosen the crankshaft holder -1- in the camshaft sprocket a half a turn, but do not remove.
-- Secure the crankshaft toothed belt gear using the :T10490 .
- The pins for the :T10490 must engage in the toothed belt gear threaded holes.
- The :T10490 connecting pin must engage in the sealing flange hole.
- Never use the camshaft positioning tool as a counterholder.
-- Pull the locking pin and loosen the camshaft bolt. Before completely loosening, replace the locking pin.
-- Loosen the camshaft toothed belt sprocket bolt -arrow-, to do this use the :T10172A with the :T10172/11 .
-- Secure the high pressure pump hub with the :T10492 to do this place the locking pin in the hub prong -2- and the rear hole -1- in the auxiliary components bracket.
-- Pull the locking pin and loosen the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket nut. Before completely loosening, replace the locking pin.
-- Use the :T10051 to loosen the nut -arrow- for the high pressure pump toothed belt gear approximately 90°.
-- Loosen the nut -1- for the tensioning roller.
-- Turn the tensioning roller eccentric pulley counter-clockwise using the :T10264 in direction of -arrow- until the roller can be secured with the :T10265 .
-- Then turn the tensioning roller eccentric pulley clockwise all the way using the :T10264 in direction of -arrow- and tighten the nut -1- hand-tight.
-- Remove the toothed belt from the camshaft toothed belt gear.
