Toothed Belt, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove engine support. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the upper toothed belt guard. Refer to UPPER TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the lower toothed belt guard. Refer to LOWER TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Only turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation.

-- Turn the camshaft at the crankshaft toothed belt gear bolt until the camshaft toothed belt gear is at "TDC".

-- Secure the camshaft hub with the :3359 , to do this place the ring pin in the carrier prong -2- and the rear hole -1- in the cylinder head.

-- Loosen the camshaft holder -1- in the camshaft sprocket a half a turn, but do not remove.

-- Secure the crankshaft toothed belt gear using the :T10490 .

The pins for the :T10490 must engage in the toothed belt gear threaded holes.
The :T10490 connecting pin must engage in the sealing flange hole.

CAUTION:

- Never use the camshaft positioning tool as a counterholder.

-- Pull the locking pin and loosen the camshaft bolt. Before completely loosening, replace the locking pin.

-- Loosen the camshaft toothed belt sprocket bolt -arrow-, to do this use the :T10172A with the :T10172/11 .

-- Secure the high pressure pump hub using the : T10492 -1- by inserting the pin in the fork -2- on the hub and in the hole behind it -1- in the subassembly bracket.

-- Pull the locking pin and loosen the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket nut. Before completely loosening, replace the locking pin.

-- Loosen the nut -arrow- for the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket approximately 90° using the :T10051 -A-.

-- Loosen the nut -1- for the tensioning roller.

-- Turn the tensioning roller eccentric pulley counter-clockwise using the :T10264 in direction of -arrow- until the roller can be secured with the :T10265 .

-- Then turn the tensioning roller eccentric pulley clockwise all the way using the :T10264 in direction of -arrow- and tighten the nut -1- hand-tight.

CAUTION:

- Mark the running direction before removal.

- Pay attention to the running direction when reinstalling.

-- Remove the toothed belt from the coolant pump and then from the remaining toothed belt gears.
