Valve Guides, Checking: Procedure

- If valve is replaced during repair, use a new valve for measurement.
- Due to different stem diameters, only use an intake valve in the intake valve guide and an exhaust valve in the exhaust valve guide.
- The valve guides cannot be replaced.
-- Secure the :VAS6079 with the :VW387 on the cylinder head.
-- Place valve in valve guide.
- The end of the valve stem must be flush with the guide.
-- Determine tip clearance.
- Wear limit: 1.0 mm.
-- If wear limit is exceeded, measure using new valves.
-- Replace the cylinder head if the wear limit is still exceeded.
