High Pressure Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and Note The Following:
-- Place the hub -arrow- on the high pressure pump shaft.
- The fitted key on the high pressure pump shaft must engage in the groove on the hub.
-- Place the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket on the hub.
- There must be no oil on the contact surface between the counterholder and the toothed belt sprocket.
-- Install the nuts -arrow- on the high pressure pump shaft threads.
-- Mount the :T10051 -A- on the toothed belt sprocket and tighten the nut -arrow- hand-tight.
-- Turn the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket with the :T10051 until it can be secured using the :T10492 -B-.
-- To do this place the :T10492 in the hub fork -2- and the rear hole -1- in the sub-assembly bracket.

- It must still be possible to rotate the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket and it must not tip.
-- Install the toothed belt (adjust valve timing). Refer to TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the high pressure line. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of destroying the fuel pump
After procedures on the fuel system it is possible to damage the fuel pump by running it dry.
Never let the fuel pump run dry.
Fill or bleed the fuel pump.
-- Bleed the fuel system. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM, FILLING/BLEEDING .
-- After replacing the high pressure pump reset the adaptation values.
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Turn on the ignition and select the following menu items on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester:
- Diagnostic-Capable Systems
- Engine Electronics
- Engine Electronic Functions
- 01 - Reseting Adaptation Values
-- Perform a leak test on the fuel system. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM LEAK TEST .
