Fuel Injectors, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the noise insulation.

• Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions when working on the fuel supply system. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .

Step For All Engine Codes Excluding CXXB, DBKA & DDYA:

-- Disconnect the return line connections on the fuel injectors, to do so push the releases upward in direction of -arrows-.

Step Only For Engine Codes CXXB, DBKA & DDYA:

-- Reach in the lowest opening -arrow- with the Backrest Panel Tool:3370  and release the return line connection center section in the direction of -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- from fuel injectors.

TIP: 

The tensioning claw always secures two fuel injectors and can only be removed when both fuel injectors are pulled.

-- Remove the union nut for each high pressure line -1 through 4- and remove the respective high pressure lines.

-- Seal off all open lines and connections with clean blind plugs.

• Sequence for removing the fuel injectors: first remove the fuel injector from cylinder "2", then "1" and/or from cylinder "4" and then "3".

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

Step for All Engine Codes Excluding CXXB, DBKA and DDYA: 

-- Position the :T10055  with the :T10415  as shown and remove the fuel injectors upward.

STEP ONLY FOR ENGINE CODES CXXB, DBKA AND DDYA:

-- Position the :T10055  with the :T10537  as shown and remove the fuel injectors upward.

All Engine Codes: 

-- Before removing the fuel injector separate the tensioning claw.

-- Remove the fuel injectors using a rotational movement.

-- Place the removed fuel injectors on a clean cloth.
