Passenger Occupant Detection System, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fasten the front seat on the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

CAUTION:

Never disconnect the connector -1- from the Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706-.

-- Release the control module from the catches -3-.

-- Disconnect the control module -2- from the storage compartment -arrow-.

CAUTION:

Never disconnect the connector -3- from the Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706-.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the control module.

-- Free up the seat occupant sensor wire from the seat pan.

-- Remove the seat cover with seat cushion for the seat pan. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Guide the control module -1- through the opening -arrow- in the seat pan and remove with the seat cushion.

-- Separate the seat cover from the seat cushion. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, SEPARATING .
