Turbocharger RECIRCULATION Valve - N249-, Checking: General Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Audi A3 Quattro, 2017 Audi A3 Quattro, 2016 Audi A3 Quattro, 2016 Audi A3, and 2015 Audi A3 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Turbocharger Recirculation Valve -N249- keeps a portion of air flowing through the intake side of the turbocharger when the throttle valve is closed and boost pressure is still present. This keeps the turbocharger impeller from slowing down, reducing turbo lag when the throttle is applied again.
