Reducing Agent Tank, Removing And Installing: Removing
- Read the safety precautions for handling reducing agent. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON SCR SYSTEM .
-- Bleed the reducing agent line to do so use a Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the Guided Functions mode 01-Metering Line, Discharging .
-- Remove the right rear wheel. Refer to WHEEL, CHANGING AND MOUNTING .
-- Remove the wheel housing liner bolt -arrow-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -3 and 4-.
-- Disconnect the hose connections -1 and 5- and close with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
-- Unclip the bracket -2- from the SRC hoses.
-- Unclip and disconnect the connector -arrow- for the reducing agent ventilation line heater.
There is a risk of injury due to escaping reducing agent.
Reducing agents may cause eye and skin irritation as well as injury to the respiratory system and possible poisoning.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective work clothing.
- Make sure there is a fresh air supply. Turn on exhaust extraction when in closed spaces.
-- Place the :VAS6931 with a soft foam pad in-between to support the tank.
-- With a second mechanic to hold the reducing agent tank, remove bolts -arrow-.
-- Lower the reducing agent tank using :VAS6931 . Guide the reducing agent tank with one hand while lowering it.
-- Drain the reducing agent tank carefully via the filler neck.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
