Balance Shaft Drive Chain, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Turn the intermediate sprocket/balance shaft to the marking -arrow-.

NOTE:

The painted links of the timing chain must be positioned on the markings on the chain sprockets.

-- Mount the timing chain; the painted links of the timing chain must be positioned on the markings on the chain sprockets.

-- Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the bolts -4-.

-- Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the bolts -3-.

-- Install the timing chain tensioning rail and tighten the bolt -2-.

-- Coat the chain tensioner seal -1- with sealant. For sealant. Refer to parts information.

-- Install the timing chain tensioner -1-.

-- Check the setting one more time.

-- Check the markings on the intermediate sprocket/balance shaft -arrow-.

NOTE:

The marking on the intermediate sprocket/balance shaft is shown with the chain removed.

Assemble in reverse order of disassembly. Note the following:

-- Install camshaft timing chain. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the lower timing chain cover. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REPLACING .

-- Install the upper timing chain cover. Refer to UPPER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the ribbed belt tensioning damper. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - BALANCE SHAFT DRIVE CHAIN .
