1. Cylinder Head Gasket
   • Replacing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Installed position: the part number faces the cylinder head
   • Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
2. Bolt
   • 25 Nm
3. Engine Lifting Eye
4. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
   • Always replace after removing.
   • Loosening. Refer to  38.
5. Cylinder Head
   • Removing and installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Checking for distortion. Refer to Fig 3.
   • Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
   • Checking for distortion. Refer to Fig 3.
   • Do not rework the upper sealing surface
   • Only replace together with the cylinder head cover
   • Check Valve, Removing and installing. Refer to CHECK VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
6. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
   • Always replace after removing.
   • Loosening. Refer to  38.
7. O-ring
   • Always replace after removing.
   • Lubricate with engine oil
8. Plugs
   • 5 Nm
   • With ball head for the engine cover
9. Cap
   • With seal
10. O-ring
    • Always replace after removing.
    • Lubricate with engine oil
11. Plugs
12. Bracket
13. Bolt
    • 7 Nm
14. Heat Shield
15. Bolt
    • 20 Nm
16. Bolt
    • 20 Nm
17. To the Intake Manifold/Turbocharger

    • Removing and installing. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

    • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - CRANKCASE VENTILATION .
23. Oil Separator
    • There are different versions depending on the model. Refer to OIL SEPARATOR . Refer to the parts information for the allocation.

24. To Intake Manifold

    • No replacement part

    • Replace if damaged
27. Vacuum Pump
    • Removing and installing. Refer to VACUUM PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
28. Bolt
    • Tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - VACUUM PUMP
29. Retaining Plate

    • 9 Nm
31. Connection
    • Engine with secondary air system: to remove, remove the Secondary Air Injection Solenoid Valve -N112-.
32. O-ring
    • Always replace after removing.
    • Coat with coolant
33. Engine Lifting Eye

    • Tightening specification -item 3- OVERVIEW - IGNITION SYSTEM
36. Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
    • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - IGNITION SYSTEM .
37. O-ring
    • Always replace after removing.
    • Lubricate with engine oil
38. Partition Plate

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Loosen the cylinder head bolts in the sequence -1 to 10-.

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

• Bolt differences: 
• Bolt without collar
• Bolt with collar -arrow-

-- Tighten the bolts in the steps shown in the sequence:

Fig 3: Cylinder Head Distortion

-- Check the cylinder head in several places for distortion using a straight edge and a feeler gauge.

• Maximum permissible distortion: 0.05 mm.
