Right Seal, Replacing, AUDI Q3: Installing

Vehicles with Rear Final Drive 0AY and 0BS 

-- Lightly lubricate the outer diameter of the new seal and using the : T10049  install it as far as the stop. Do not tilt the seal when doing this.

Vehicles with Rear Final Drive 0CR 

-- Lightly lubricate the outer diameter of the new seal -1- and use the : T10049  to drive it in to the dimension -a-. While doing so, do not tilt the seal.

• Dimension -a- = 4.8 ± 0.1 mm; Measured from the housing flat surface to seal.
• Do not drive in the seal all the way.
• Maintain a parallel alignment of a maximum 0.25 mm between the seal -1- to the housing flat surface.

All Vehicles 

-- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lip halfway with Sealing Grease: G 052 128 A1  .

-- Clamp the flange shaft in a vise with jaw protectors.

-- Use the new circlip -A- to press the previous circlip out of the flange shaft groove.

-- Install the flange shaft using a plastic hammer and a drift.

-- Attach the drive axle to the flange shaft. Refer to Drive Axle Threaded Connection, Loosening And Tightening .

-- Tighten the bolts for the rear final drive. Refer to OVERVIEW - FINAL DRIVE .

-- Install the plugs -1- in the underbody.

-- Install the spare tire well or foam inserts.

-- Install the spare tire, if equipped.

-- Check the gear oil level in the rear final drive. Refer to GEAR OIL .
