All Wheel Drive Clutch Oil Level, Checking
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
- Shop Crane - Drip Tray: VAS6208
Test Conditions
- The oil temperature must be 20 to 40 °C (68 to 104 °F).
- The oil temperature can be reached by driving the vehicle for a while.
- The vehicle must be level.
- Final drive must be in the installation position to check oil level.
Transmission Fluid Temperature, Reading
-- Connect the data link connector -arrow- to the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester with the ignition switched off.
Component location: left front footwell, next to the hood release lever
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Select the following in this sequence:
-- Identify the vehicle via the Guided Functions .
-- Select 22- AWD electronics .
-- Select Clutch temperature or Control module temperature .
-- Read the oil temperature.
- The oil temperature must be 20 to 40 °C (68 to 104 °F).
Oil Level, Checking
-- Place the : VAS6208 under the final drive.
-- Remove the oil level inspection plug -2-.
The oil level is correct if the all wheel drive clutch is filled to the lower edge of the oil filler hole or up to 3 mm below the oil filler hole.
-- If necessary, only fill with High-Performance All Wheel Drive Clutch Oil. Refer to HIGH-PERFORMANCE ALL WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH OIL, FILLING .
