Gear Oil, Draining And Filling: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Drain the fluid:

-- Place the : VAS6208 under the final drive.

-- Remove the gear oil drain plug -1- for the Gear Oil.

-- Let the entire oil drain.

-- Install and tighten the new drain plug -1-. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - DRAIN AND CHECK PLUGS .

Oil Filling:

-- Add enough oil using : VAS6291A until it runs out between the charging device adapter and the transmission housing.

-- Remove the charging device and adapter if necessary a little oil left over will flow out.

The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.

-- Insert the new oil filler plug -2- and tighten.
