Lower Timing Chain Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the drive plate, refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the upper rear coolant pipe, refer to UPPER REAR COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Engine Coolant Circulation Pump 2 -V178-, refer to Engine Coolant Circulation Pump 2 -V178-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the upper timing chain covers, refer to TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the Engine Speed Sensor -G28-.

NOTE:

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Loosen and remove the bolts -2 to 8- in a diagonal sequence.

NOTE:

Bolt -1- is only installed on vehicles with vane pumps.

-- Carefully loosen the lower timing chain cover from the bond and remove it.

-- Press the transmission side of the crankshaft shaft seal out of the lower timing chain cover.
