WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Audi A7 Quattro, 2014 Audi A7 Quattro, 2013 Audi A7, and 2012 Audi A7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
To reduce the Risk of Personal Injury and/or Damage to the Fuel Injection and Ignition System, Always Observe the Following:
- Individuals with a pacemaker must not stay in the danger area of high voltage systems, e.g. ignition systems, xenon light.
- The ignition must be switched off before connecting or disconnecting injection and ignition system wiring or tester cables.
- Cleaning the engine should only be performed with ignition switched off.
- The Battery must only be disconnected and connected with the ignition switched off, since the Engine Control Module can otherwise be damaged.
- Disconnect the ignition coil connectors if the engine is supposed to be driven by the cranking speed so that the engine cannot start (for example, when performing a compression test). Remove the circlip for the Fuel Pump Control Module -J538- /fuel delivery unit; fuse assignment, refer to => Wiring Diagram.
-- Delete any DTC memory entries that occurred during testing or assembly:
- The Vehicle Diagnostic Tester is connected.
-- Select the mode.
-- Press the Go to button and select the "Function/component selection" and the following tree structures one after the other:
- Drive
- 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems
- Simos Fuel Injection and Ignition
- Functions
- Readiness code
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging electronic components when disconnecting the battery.
- Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.
- Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is turned off, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
