Front Brake Pads, Removing And Installing : Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

NOTE: Always replace brake rotors on both sides of the axle.
NOTE:

Before installing the brake pads, press the shims -arrows- into the brake pistons in the brake caliper.

Use new shims.

NOTE:

When removing, mark brake pads that will be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise braking effect will be uneven.

when reusing the brake pads, the shims on the back side of the brake pads must not be damaged.

shims may not be loosened from the back side of the brake pad.

if one shim is damaged, then all three shims on the brake pad must be replaced.

if one shim is loosened, then all three shims on the brake pad must be replaced.

before installing the brake pads, new shims must be pressed into the brake pistons.

before installing the brake pads, remove film from the shims.
