Brake Caliper, Removing And Installing : Removing

Do not loosen the bolted connections -A and B arrows-.

WARNING:

There is a risk of malfunction.

  • Do not loosen the bolted connections -A arrows-
  • Do not loosen the guide pins -arrows B-.

-- Remove the wheels.

NOTE: When removing, mark brake pads that will be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise braking effect will be uneven.

-- Remove the wheels.

-- Disconnect the connector for the brake pad wear display -arrow-.

-- Release the connector from the mount while turning it 90° at the same time.

-- Remove the connector from the bracket.

NOTE:

For easier removal of the brake caliper from the brake rotor, push the brake pads -3- back lightly with pliers -1-. To prevent damage to the coating on the brake caliper, place a piece of rubber -2- or similar between the pliers and brake caliper. Do not damage the existing brake pad wear indicator cable.

-- Remove the brake caliper bolts -11-.

NOTE: Loosen the bolts -11- with the Socket - Xzn 9T50036.
CAUTION: Remove only these bolts -11- for removing the brake caliper.
NOTE: Do not loosen the brake hose.

-- Pull the brake caliper from the brake rotor.

-- Hang the brake caliper on the body using a suitable wire.

CAUTION: Do not let the brake caliper hang on the brake hose.
