Mount, Removing And Installing, Brake Booster Push Rod: Removing

-- Move the seat all the way back as far as it will go.

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Remove the storage compartment under the instrument panel on the driver side. Refer to Interior Equipment .

-- Remove the footwell vent.

-- Disconnect the connector to the Brake Lamp Switch -F-.

WARNING: If possible, leave the brake pedal stop installed; it could break the mount for the Brake Lamp Switch -F- if the brake pedal is released too quickly.

-- Remove the Brake Lamp Switch -F-. Refer to Brake Lamp Switch -F-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Separate the brake pedal from the brake booster. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL AND BRAKE BOOSTER, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

WARNING: If possible, leave the brake pedal stop installed; it could break the mount for the Brake Lamp Switch -F- if the brake pedal is released too quickly.

-- Pry the brake booster push rod mount -12- out of the brake pedal using a suitable tool.
