Bracket, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Body Front .

-- Remove the tower brace -1- at the bolts -2 through 4-.

-- Disconnect the connectors from the engine control module and move them to the side.

-- Remove the bolts -8- from the brake booster bracket.

-- Move the seat all the way back as far as it will go.

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Remove the instrument panel cover on the driver side. Refer to Interior Equipment .

-- Remove the footwell vent.

-- Disconnect the connector to the Brake Lamp Switch -F-.

-- Remove the Brake Lamp Switch -F- -8-. Refer to Brake Lamp Switch -F-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the nuts -15-.

-- Disconnect the connector from the accelerator pedal module -6-.

-- Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering .

-- Remove the bracket, with the brake pedal still installed, from the vehicle.

NOTE: Remove both clips -1-.

-- Remove both locking springs -1- from the bolt -5-.

-- Loosen the bolt -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -5- from the brake pedal -2- and bracket -4-.

-- Remove the brake pedal from the bracket.

WARNING: If possible, leave the brake pedal stop installed; it could break the mount for the Brake Lamp Switch -F- if the brake pedal is released too quickly.

-- Remove the accelerator pedal module.
