Brake Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

When working with brake fluid, observe relevant safety precautions and notes. Refer to BRAKE FLUID .

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Body Front .

-- Remove the tower brace -1- at the bolts -2 through 4-.

-- Disconnect the connectors from the engine control module and move them to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector from the brake fluid level warning switch.

-- Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

NOTE:

The cap over the brake fluid reservoir is installed only on certain models.

-- Remove the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

Protect plenum chamber from escaping brake fluid.

Brake fluid reservoir is engage in master brake cylinder on bottom side.

-- Remove brake lines -2- and seal off with plugs from repair set part no. 1H0 698 311 A.

-- Remove brake master cylinder nuts -3-.

-- Carefully take brake master cylinder out of brake booster.
