Brake Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING:

When working with brake fluid, observe relevant safety precautions and notes. Refer to BRAKE FLUID .

Observe the following during installation:

-- Install the master brake cylinder.

-- Install and tighten the nuts for the master brake cylinder -3-.

-- Insert the brake lines -2- into the master brake cylinder first and tighten them loosely.

-- Tighten the brake lines -2-. Refer to  10.

-- Install the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Slide the securing pin -3- through the brake fluid reservoir and brake master cylinder.

NOTE:

Make sure the securing pin is seated correctly. The angle must sit in the mount on the brake fluid reservoir.

-- Install the cap for the brake fluid reservoir.

NOTE:

The cap over the brake fluid reservoir is installed only on certain models.

-- Connect the connector to the engine control module.

-- Install the tower brace -1- with the bolts -2 through 4 -.

-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir.

Do not add more brake fluid above the "MAX" mark -1- otherwise it will leak out of the reservoir.

-- Connect the connector to the brake fluid level warning contact.

-- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Body Front .

-- Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM, BLEEDING 

CAUTION:

Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle.
