Brake Booster, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2015 Audi S7, 2015 Audi RS 7, 2015 Audi A7 Quattro, 2014 Audi S7, and 2014 Audi RS 7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

-- Insert the master brake cylinder into the brake booster.

-- Tighten the master brake cylinder on the brake booster.

-- Install the brake booster with the master brake cylinder.

-- Install and tighten the bolts for the brake booster -1-.

NOTE:

Make sure the bolts on the brake booster and the nuts on the master brake cylinder are tighten to the tightening specification.

-- Insert the vacuum hose into the brake booster.

CAUTION:

Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. Replace the vacuum hose if damaged.

-- Insert the brake lines -2- into the master brake cylinder first and tighten them loosely.

-- Tighten the brake lines -2-. Refer to  10.

-- Install the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the cap for the brake fluid reservoir.

NOTE:

The cap over the brake fluid reservoir is installed only on certain models.

-- Connect the connector to the engine control module.

-- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead -A-. Refer to Body Front .

-- Install the tower brace -1- with the bolts -2 through 4 -.

-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir.

Do not add more brake fluid above the "MAX" mark -1- otherwise it will leak out of the reservoir.

-- Connect the connector to the brake fluid level warning contact.

-- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Body Front .

CAUTION:

Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle.

-- Brake pedal to brake booster, connecting. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL AND BRAKE BOOSTER, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

NOTE:

Make sure the ball head on the brake booster is installed correctly into the brake pedal mount.

-- Install the Brake Lamp Switch -F-. Refer to Brake Lamp Switch -F-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM, BLEEDING 

CAUTION:

Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
