Engine Control Module -J623-, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Read the adaptation values for the fuel injector and ash content before removing the Engine Control Module -J623-. Use Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

NOTE:

The fuel injector adaptation values of the old (faulty) Engine Control Module (ECM) can be stored and read as a file in the vehicle diagnostic tester with Guided Fault Finding or Guided Functions, refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Switch off the ignition after saving the file and remove the key.

NOTE:

If the injector adaptation values from the faulty engine control unit are no longer readable, they must be manually entered and adapted in the new engine control module.

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover, refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, pull the filler tube out of the windshield washer fluid reservoir and out of the opening in the body and move it to the right.

-- Open the retainer -arrow- and remove the Engine Control Module -J623- -1-.
