Ribbed Belt, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front noise insulation, refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front right wheel spoiler, refer to FRONT WHEEL SPOILER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI A7/S7 or FRONT WHEEL SPOILER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI RS7 .

-- Remove the front bumper cover end plate, refer to BUMPER COVER END PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI A7/S7 or FRONT BUMPER COVER END PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI RS7 .

WARNING:

There is a risk of injury if the radiator fan turns on by itself.

  • The coolant fan can come on even when the ignition is turned off, for example, caused by the heat still in the engine compartment.

Audi RS6/RS7:

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-, push the front lower coolant line slightly forward.

CAUTION:

Risk of damage due to reversed running direction on a used ribbed belt.

  • Before removing ribbed belt, marking running direction with chalk or felt-tip pen for reinstallation later.

-- To release ribbed belt tension, pivot the damper only as far as necessary in the direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the ribbed belt and release the tension on the tensioning element.

NOTE:

Ignore the Locking Pin T10060A.
